Introduction
Malabar S.r.l. is committed to making its website accessible to as many people as possible, including those who use assistive technologies.
The company voluntarily adopts as its reference the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA and the principles of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, implemented in Italy by Legislative Decree No. 106 of 10 August 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the requirements of WCAG 2.1 level AA, due to the non-conformities listed below.
On 22 July 2026 the website underwent a comprehensive accessibility improvement covering: focus visibility for keyboard users; the skip-to-content link and page structure (main region and labelled navigation menus); keyboard and screen-reader access to the product format selector (whole beans, espresso grind, moka grind); accessible names for icons and links; colour contrast of text and links; keyboard access to the language selector; heading hierarchy; alternative text for images; warnings on links that open a new window; and support for the system preference for reduced motion.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not fully accessible:
- Assistive-technology testing not yet completed. Keyboard navigation tests and technical inspections have been passed, but testing with screen readers carried out by real users has not yet been completed. Until then, full compliance cannot be declared.
- Anti-spam verification (reCAPTCHA). The contact form uses a verification component provided by Google, whose accessibility is not under the control of Malabar S.r.l. Anyone experiencing difficulties can contact us by phone or e-mail at the addresses given below: every request received through these channels receives the same attention as those sent through the form.
- Third-party components. The cookie consent banner, the Instagram feed box and some parts of the purchase flow (side mini-cart, checkout) are provided by external components. They have been corrected in every aspect we can act on, but some of their elements cannot be modified.
- English version. The site offers an English translation generated with a translation tool: some translated content may not yet be complete or fully equivalent to the Italian version.
The improvement work continues: we expect to complete assistive-technology testing by 31 December 2027.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 22 July 2026 and is based on a self-assessment carried out by Solferino 3 on behalf of Malabar S.r.l.
Assessment methods used:
- automated technical analysis of the main pages (structure, accessible names, field labels, colour contrast, image attributes), on desktop and mobile screens;
- inspection of the accessibility tree exposed by the browser, to check the accessible names of links, buttons and fields;
- keyboard-only navigation tests, including the purchase flow and the selection of product variants;
- checking page behaviour with the system preference for reduced motion enabled.
